The OPTIMA spirit entails testing products at the highest level of motorsports, and this weekend the team did just that with the newest battery model in the product line, the ORANGETOP QH6 lithium automotive battery. The testing grounds — the 2025 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

The prestigious Pikes Peak Hill Climb requires participants to conquer 12.42 miles, 156 turns, and 14,115 feet in elevation to take the checkered flag. Every component of the race cars must perform to a level of excellence in the pursuit of reaching the summit. Ordinary simply does not cut it. Enter the ORANGETOP QH6.

In any form of racing, weight savings translates to speed, and more speed brings a better chance at a win. The 34 lbs weight savings to an equivalent H6 lead acid battery makes the upgrade to the QH6 a key advantage in a highly competitive setting. Unique to the Pikes Peak mountain are the elements of nature. High altitude mixed with heat waves at the starting line and snow at the summit. A battery must be resilient in any condition the mountain presents, and the QH6 proved it was.

Put the steering wheel of a meticulously built machine in the hands of a skilled driver and watch magic happen. After adapting to a shortened racecourse due to extreme winds at the summit, an elite group of OPTIMA powered drivers secured finishing positions to be proud of amid stiff competition.

“Our drivers killed it. Our battery performed at a very high level, and we are very excited to bring this product out to market,” said Chris Cotton, Vice President OPTIMA, after watching the vehicles ascend the mountain firsthand.
