SAN ANTONIO – May 2, 2025 – Clarios, a global leader in low-voltage battery technology, celebrates three decades in San Antonio today.

The Clarios San Antonio Distribution Center is hosting a 30th Anniversary Family Day celebration today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The plant will halt operations to welcome more than 250 employees and their families to the site for a day of fun featuring food trucks, games, entertainment and plant tours.

In recent years, Clarios has invested more than $45M into the San Antonio Plant and increased headcount by 40%. The San Antonio Plant was recognized last year as the company’s most improved plant. Clarios batteries power one out of every three vehicles on the road today.

“This is a proud day for the Clarios San Antonio Distribution Center,” said Ernesto Cisneros, the plant manager. “Today we celebrate all of this facility’s accomplishments the only way we know how— by celebrating our team and the people in their lives that motivate them most.” Members of the U.S. and local Clarios leadership teams will gather alongside San Antonio Clarios employees and their families to celebrate the plant’s history, contributions to the U.S. transportation sector and role in the local community.

The celebration will feature special guest Christopher Poolvorde fresh off a recent win at the King of the Hammers Desert Challenge. The Clarios and OPTIMA Batteries-backed American off-road racer will bring his race truck and even take it for a spin in the parking lot.

To formally recognize the 30th anniversary, the Clarios team will commence a brief program at 11 A.M. with remarks from Clarios Vice President, U.S.-Canada Operations Pat Slaats and others. The program will also recognize local San Antonio first responders and veterans.

The San Antonio plant is actively involved in supporting local and national charitable organizations, including the San Antonio Food Bank, Toys for Tots and Soldiers’ Angels. These efforts reflect the plant's commitment to giving back to our veterans, the community and supporting those in need.
