Clarios appoints Dr. Alexander van Laack as Chief Technology Officer

Clarios appoints Dr. Alexander van Laack as Chief Technology Officer to lead global engineering, innovation, and low-voltage system development.

GLENDALE, Wis., USA – May 13, 2026 – Clarios, a global leader in advanced low-voltage energy storage solutions, today announced the appointment of Dr. Alexander van Laack as Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

Van Laack joined Clarios in 2024 as Vice President, Sales, OE Americas, where he led strategic initiatives to strengthen OEM partnerships and drive sustainable growth. Since February 2025, he has served as interim CTO, providing leadership to the company’s global technology organization.

In his new role, van Laack will lead Clarios’ global engineering, advanced development, validation, and innovation activities. He will focus on strengthening engineering execution, shaping the company’s low-voltage system architecture, and delivering scalable solutions that meet evolving customer and regulatory requirements.

Van Laack brings nearly two decades of experience across engineering, technology, and commercial leadership roles in the automotive sector, including senior positions at Forvia and Faurecia Clarion Electronics. 
He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and a degree in Business Administration and Engineering from RWTH Aachen University, Germany.
